Cancellations and Refunds

Custom Companions L.L.C: If you must reschedule your dog’s Custom Companions enrollment PRIOR to the FIRST DATE of their reservation, please give us a minimum of 14 days’ notice prior to the FIRST DATE of their first lesson reservation so that we can offer your spot to other students who are waiting to schedule with us. There is no charge for a FIRST reschedule made more than 14 days in advance of the FIRST DATE of your dog’s private program enrollment and we will work with you to find a new start date for your dog’s reservation.
There can be no refunds, reschedules, or credit given for cancellations made within 14 days of the FIRST DATE of their Custom Companions enrollment UNLESS there is a waiting list for our Custom Companions and we are able to fill your spot with another student. If we are able to fill your spot, we will work with you to find a new start date for your dog’s Custom Companions reservation. Your dog’s reservation may be bumped down a number of weeks to accommodate fitting in another student’s complete Custom Companions enrollment into the gap made by your reschedule request.

Once your dog’s Custom Companions training sessions has started, THERE CAN BE NO REFUNDS, CREDITS, or RESCHEDULES GIVEN for no-shows or cancellations of your dog’s Custom Companions enrollment.

Appointments cancelled within 48 hours of your appointment time will be charged to your package as half-time – i.e., if you have a 60-minute appointment scheduled and you cancel the day before your appointment, you will be charged for a 30-minute appointment, and 30 minutes will be added back to your package for rescheduling. If there is no reschedule you will be charged the full amount.

No-show and last minute (within 2 hours of your appointment time) cancellations will be charged to your package fully as scheduled.

Private Lesson Packages are non-refundable and non-transferable. If, after your dog has attended a few lessons of your Private Lesson Package, we determine that this service is not the best fit for your dog’s needs, we will work with you to PHONE: (970) 744-1977

apply the remainder of your package credit to a more suitable service. All Private Program package sales are final – no refunds can be given for sessions left unused or expired.

Thank you for your understanding and commitment to these policies. This helps to ensure that our time is used most efficiently, and we are able to help as many clients as possible. It is also the best practice to help you reach your training goals with your dog as efficiently as possible. Please keep in mind that if you do need to cancel or reschedule your lesson and thus forfeit the lesson time, you may also need to add additional time to your Private Program package in order to reach your training goals.

Illness

If you or your dog is ill, please do not come to your private lesson. We do our very best to make rescheduling and makeup session accommodations for students facing these challenges. If your dog has any of the following symptoms, please stay home and check in with your veterinarian: vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, inappetence (if abnormal), fever, sneezing, coughing, wheezing, discharge from eyes/nose/mouth, or any other out-of-the-ordinary symptoms.

If your dog has been diagnosed with kennel cough, please wait 7 days from the last symptoms and get a clearance (verbal or written) from your veterinarian prior to returning to class or private lessons at the training session. If your dog has been diagnosed with parvovirus, please discuss with your veterinarian and your training instructor about the best plan to return to session safely once they have returned to health.

Children

Children are welcome to attend private training sessions under the supervision of an adult. For children under the age of 10, a second, non-participating adult must be present with the children while on the premises. Children under the age of 17 may not, under any circumstances, be dropped off with the dog to participate in training session in the absence of a parent or guardian. PHONE: (970) 744-1977

Leashing and Cleanup

Dogs should be leashed when entering and exiting the training sessions, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their own dog while on the premises, including the parking lot and gravel and grass potty areas.

Refunds

Refunds are subject to our cancellation policy (see above). There are no refunds for portions of independent sessions that are missed due to personal scheduling conflicts or not attended for other reasons. All private lesson package sales are final – no refunds can be given for sessions left unused or expired. All other refunds issued are minus a 4% processing fee.

Food in Training

Food In Training – We use treats in our training, and as much as possible we work to keep portion sizes small & primarily kibble (dog food) based. Please bring your puppy’s food with them to train, so that as much as possible we can use what they are familiar with from home. For our in-house treats, we do our very best to pick treats that will cause minimal stomach upset, but please know that some loose stool or inappetence for dinner at the end of a training session is a possibility, especially as your puppy is also processing the excitement of a new & fun training environment.

If your dog has any intestinal issues following a day at training, please let us know for their next training session, so that we can use different types of treats, or other types of rewards like toy, play, sniffing, etc. If your dog is known to have a sensitive stomach, please alert us ahead of time (and make sure to bring your dog’s own approved treats with them in training for us to use).

Guarantees

We do not provide any guarantees of certain results. Because each dog is an individual being, and lives in a human family made up of individual beings, there are too many factors outside of our control to be able to ethically guarantee specific results in each case. However, we have worked with many, many dogs, and their families, and we haven’t run into many that we couldn’t train and help. PHONE: (970) 744-1977
